Binance referral code
A Binance referral code is a short ID you enter when creating a Binance account. It links your account to the person who referred you, which is what unlocks the spot-fee kickback and any new-user voucher on offer. The code must be added at sign-up; Binance does not let you attach one afterwards.

What you get with the Binance referral code
| You (the new user) | A share of trading fees back as a kickback on spot trades, plus whatever welcome voucher Binance is running for newly verified accounts (Binance has advertised a fee rebate voucher of up to 100 USDT on its own registration pages). |
|---|---|
| Us (the referrer) | A commission on the trading fees of referred users, with a higher rate for referrers who hold BNB. |
| Where to enter | Sign-up form, field "Referral ID". |
| Add after sign-up? | No |
| KYC | Identity verification required before trading and before most rewards unlock. |
| Base fees | Spot fees start at 0.1% maker / 0.1% taker (lower with BNB payment or VIP tiers). USDT-M futures start at 0.02% maker / 0.05% taker. |
Exchanges change campaign amounts often. Confirm the current figures on the official Binance referral page before relying on them.
What is Binance?
Binance launched in July 2017 and quickly became the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world by trading volume. It lists hundreds of assets and runs one of the deepest order books in the industry, which is why most traders use it as a benchmark for liquidity and fees.
Beyond spot trading, Binance offers USDT-margined and coin-margined futures, margin trading, Earn products, a P2P marketplace, Launchpool for new tokens and a self-custody Web3 wallet. Access is restricted in some countries; US residents are directed to the separate Binance.US platform.

Is Binance safe?
Binance publishes proof-of-reserves reports, holds a user protection fund (SAFU) and has operated since 2017, but it has also faced regulatory actions in several countries, including a 2023 settlement with US authorities. Treat it as a large, well-capitalised but still centralised custodian: keep only what you actively trade on the exchange.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add a Binance referral code after I have already registered?
No. Binance only accepts a referral ID during account creation. If you registered without one, the only way to use a code is to open a new account, which Binance terms do not allow for the same person.
Does using a referral code cost me anything?
No. The referrer is paid out of the commission Binance already earns from your trading fees. Your fees are the same or lower, never higher, with a code applied.
Is the Binance welcome voucher cash?
No. It is a trading-fee rebate voucher. It offsets fees you pay on qualifying trades and expires if unused, so it only has value if you actually trade.
Does the referral code work on Binance.US?
No. Binance.US is a separate company with its own referral program. Codes from Binance.com do not apply there.
